Volunteering and what we can gain from it

Volunteering is a certain activity or work done for free by a person or a group. People can volunteer in various fields. We were brainstorming and came up with many areas of volunteering.

It can be done in NGOs /non governmental organization/, environmental organizations, health care centers, rescue centres, community centres, orphanages, festivals, events, etc. Most common activities can be cleaning the nature, building or renovating public places, harvesting crops, teaching, taking care of the disabled, old or sick, running a bio farm, etc. We also can be volunteering inside in offices to help small businesses or non-profit organizations, organizing summer camps for kids, helping in red cross, public libraries, organizing clothes or book swaps, helping in animal shelters or helping with some events for example concerts or charity gatherings.

But why do people volunteer if they do not get any reward for it? The truth is we can gain so much more than money in our life. In offices we can gain experiences how to work with documents, how to enlarge our creativity and thinking out of the box. Also a little great feeling about yourself doing the good is pretty amazing. I think i dont even need to mention the good vibez and being able to socialize with people with similar interests and goals. It is one more reason to expolre and care about your mental health when you have great surrounding factors. As the powerful saying says "we learn all life" and that is also importatnt to know that while volunteering and interacting with other people we find new types of perspectives on the world or maybe just find out about new lifestyles. By not talking only to adults, many meaningful conversations are happening with children. Last but not least you can get to places where you would be probably  not able to get at other conditions, ag. to backstages, to big company meetings, night "parties" where you can meet many powerful people or just find sponsors for your own buisness.

Volunteering is for everyone something different but it means to all of us who volunteer the same thing also the same reward. Gratitude, empathy, love and many other feelings which are sometimes more than any amount of money are part of reward when volunteering and can never be taken away from you.

Tools used in the project

In order to achieve a remarkable result throughout some activities that involve people with a common aim , there have to be implemented some tools that would help in learning and understanding a topic, so that is why some magic tools are important for a project that provides sustainability, too. Furthermore, these are the ones used in our LLLS journey: Firstly, some icebreakers aka activities to get to know each other For example, making a circle with the whole group so each person, one by one, says his/her name and associates it with an animal and a gesture. Another game is the Clock game: the one that help people meet and discuss on a topic for about 3-4 minutes for every hour of a clock (12 meeting per general) Secondly, to start the team-building there is another activity by staying in a circle with eyes closed and trying to take 2 random hands and then untying the formed knot of hands connecting to the nature and learning more about what it means, what everybody is doin...

Entry level nutrition!

One of the most important things in our lives, that we love to underestimate, is our nutrition. Throughout the project we tapped into the basics, as it's something that anyone can simply understand and incorporate into their daily lives. Our bodies are complex biological machines and they need a plethora of various different types of minerals and molecules alike.  For an individual to have a sustainable and nutritious diet, they need to integrate lots of vitamins, minerals and a healthy amount of calories. In our personal opinion, it is always a good idea to replace the overly processed fast food with many veggies and fruits, that you could even grow in your own personal garden! Veggies like cabbage, peppers etc etc, contain lots of vitamin C B and A, that play an essential part in our metabolic processes. Fruits can serve as a great substitution to overly sugared sweets, as they are generally lower in calories, and also bring along many minerals and vitamins. It is important to ha...

I CAN DO IT more sustainable

In today’s day and age, learning how to be more sustainable is mandatory in achieving an increased quality of life.          As a consequence of human expansion, our planet is suffering from daily amounts of non-recyclable waste, for example plastic waste, food and water waste, energy waste, compulsive shopping, etc.—           Everything we use and buy has an environmental footprint and consequence. If you would like to put your daily choices under control, it’s time to get informed and take action in order to save the planet, because we only have one.             Also, in case you think individual effort doesn’t cound, let’s rethink this argument.               According to the EPA, the average person in the U.S. produces  4.9 pounds of trash per day , as of 2018. That's equates to about 147 pounds of trash per person per month, or 1,788.5 pounds per year. That's up ...
